Do you dream of a day in which machines take care of everything for us? Where our jobs are safe, there is always enough food, and where we can focus our creative energy on more fulfilling activities than work? For now, it seems that the only way to get there is through AI. But before you invest in artificial intelligence start-ups or robots with human-level intelligence (like Sophia), artificial intelligence may be able to bridge the gap where humans fall short as its rapid adoption continues, especially during the pandemic.

AI is not a replacement for our own intelligence. It can extend the capabilities of AI even further. Expect AI to help you use your existing intelligence more efficiently, without having to learn new skills all over again. AI will allow us to move away from the manual labour that makes up millions of jobs today to tasks that machines can do. Instead of giving a hand-written prescription to your doctor, you might be able to ask your device for an AI-generated prescription that he or she will read back and explain in a way you can understand.
AI will make it possible for humans to work together in more creative ways on more creative projects than ever before. You probably have a GPS enabled smartphone that can help you find a nearby restaurant. But why not use AI to supplement your own creativity? If it’s trendy, you can use the camera on your phone to take photos of the things you like and upload them to an app that uses AI and machine learning algorithms to generate a fashion trend report. The app will match the photos with other influential photos on the internet and create a digital inspiration board that you can share with your friends. The possibilities are endless! The only limit is what we think is possible.
AI capabilities
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the intelligence exhibited by machines, in contrast to that exhibited by humans and other animals. The state of the art is that computers can win at specific tasks (like Chess or Poker), or make extremely accurate predictions about specific real-world situations, but are still unable to even approach the most basic human abilities in other fields, like general reasoning, natural language understanding and motion planning.
How AI can change human lives
In the near future, we can expect AI to change the way we work and even how we live. Robots with AI will be able to help us do things that are currently impossible. AI can and will be used in many different ways to help us make our lives more efficient, if not fun.

AI has already helped many people in this way. For example, it is used to help deaf people communicate by displaying text based on their movements on a screen. The more advanced AI will be, the more we can expect it to help us. We can expect AI to make our lives less stressful. The promise is that AI will learn from its mistakes and help adapt to changes in the way our world experiences change.
AI & Jobs
AI is already being used in a big way in many jobs today. The biggest example of this yet is Driverless cars. Today, these cars use computers with AI already built into them that assist the driver in making decisions on how fast or slow to drive and how much or even when to put on the brakes. AI is also used today to help pilot planes that fly across the world. Computers with AI in them are able to notice when objects are coming toward the plane and adjust course to avoid the object hitting the plane.
Artificially intelligent computers can quickly become artificially super-intelligent computers, uncontrollable by their human creators. That’s because, with AI, fallible humans are creating technology that has no limits. No one could make an AI so human-like that it would consider the well-being of humans above its own well-being, or so humanesque that it would choose to save humanity before self-preservation. We can expect AI in the future to take over many of the more mundane and repetitive tasks that are used today by humans in order to free us up to do what we really want and need to do.
