TIPS TO PREPARE FOR THE CLASS 11TH ENGLISH EXAM:
1. TAKE THE OVERVIEW OF THE SYLLABUS:
There are 2 books for class 11th. See the syllabus which is coming in your exam . There are several poems, stories in these books, in addition to this in exams article writing, letters, Grammar, seen and unseen passages are also in the syllabus.
Go through them carefully and prepare them from easy topics.
2. MAKE THE TIMETABLE :
Make a timetable which is convenient to you. Add each and every subject to the daily timetable schedule. In addition to this make sure that you practice daily writing content.
3. MANAGE WRITING SKILLS :
The most difficult part of the English exam is the writing skills and time management for students. In the preparation, read newspaper articles to get the content regular. In examinations many students face the lack of time management, in the flow of writing students forgets the time limits, because of this the student gets less time for the other sections. To overcome this, make the topics precise and write good content to make a good expression In front of the reader. Use the phrases , quotes and clauses for a good impression . Give examples related to daily basis also in article writing. Don’t make grammar mistakes while writing the answers and don’t overwrite. To score good marks write the answer point-wise and point to point with neat handwriting.
4. MANAGE WORD LIMITS :
On exceeding the word limit the reader deducts the marks for overwriting. The reader wants the answer within the limits with good vocabulary and without grammar mistakes.
5. READING SKILLS :
This is the important section of the exam. In this section the questions come from the seen and unseen passage . Students have to read the passage that answers the question according to them. Students get confused while reading the passage and write the answers wrong. Students have to focus on these skills to overcome this problem. So while preparing the students should practice many seen and unseen passages .
6. EVALUATE:
Evaluation should be done while preparing. Students should evaluate themselves by doing as many questions as possible while preparing, and check whether you are correct or not . The evaluation gives a report of how the preparation is going on. It shows the topics in which you are weak and in which you are strong . After evaluation, work on your weak topics and do more work on them. For evaluation, you can do the sample papers and previous year question papers.
7. MAKE NOTES:
Make the notes precise and make the summary of stories and poems. Note making should be in the form of pointwise. Each important point should be covered in note-making. Note making is helpful in the final revision before exams. Note making also improves writing skills which is useful in examinations.
8. LEARN THE IMPORTANT TOPICS OF THE SYLLABUS:
Mostly in the passage the most famous questions are asked from the chapter’s name and author. Students generally don’t learn their name . So prepare them thoroughly and learn the name of the author’s. There are some key points in the chapters and poems which are useful for exam purposes, so prepare them also.
9. FOCUS ON CHAPTERS HAVING HIGH WEIGHTAGE:
In the syllabus some chapters have a high weightage which boosts the scores of students. Students should prepare these chapters and poems very well for scoring good marks in these chapters. Prepare their questions and see passages and relevant concepts.
10. REVISION:
This is the main part of every preparation strategy. This enhances the learning and makes the concepts clear. In the revision period observe the time versus period of covering per topic . If it is under time limit then it is well and good but if it’s exceeding then practice more to make them into under time .
11. SAMPLE PAPERS
This gives the results of evaluation of work . Do more sample papers and previous year question papers to understand the topics and cover exams in the given time intervals . Doing more sample papers gives an idea of questions asked in exams and the level of questions. Strictly follow the guidelines for the CBSE for the preparation of exams and do the sample papers according to the syllabus given by CBSE and NCERT.
